After meeting up with your guide, the trip starts with a stop at a breathtaking spot in the famous Caldera of the island Santorini where you will be introduced to its history and its unique scenery. Explore the myths and legends of Santorini on a half-day tour of the Akrotiri Excavations, the most well-preserved prehistoric settlement of Greece. Admire the famous beach of Santorini, the Red Beach. Enjoy a short drive to the unique beach of Santorini, the Red Beach, covered with red volcanic sand. The Red Beach, with its deep blue waters, offers an amazing view to the Aegean Sea. Continue with a visit to the vineyards. The island has a long tradition in the winemaking and it is renowned for its outstanding crisp dry white wines and the elegant sweet dessert wines, the Vinsanto.
Visit a traditional winery of Santorini for a wine tasting of the major wine styles the island produces and is introduced to its historical winemaking. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to the top of Santorini, past Pyrgos Village, the Prophet Elias Mountain, ar 560 mt., offering a unique 360-degree view of Santorini and the Aegean islands. Enter the Holy Monastery and sample the wine, olive oil and honey made by the Monks. Then, it's time to head north to the other side of the island and discover Oia, the town of the sailors. What you should expect here is a short walking tour to admire the whitewashed houses and, of course, to gaze at some of the best views this world can offer. Free leisure time for shopping, refreshments/lunch and the chance to experience one of the world's best sunset (included on the afternoon tour only).
