St. Basil Cathedral is an iconic sight of the Red Square in Moscow. It is often seen on the pictures. It was laid to commemorate the war victory over Kazan by Ivan the Terrible in 1552. In Soviet times the Church was saved miraculously as Stalin wanted to demolish it. Now it is a museum of history.
